Frequently Asked Questions

  • How long does each session last?

Your first session will last 60-90 minutes to give us time to review your history, discuss the concerns that bring you to counseling, and explore options for treatment and support. Your regular sessions will typically last 45 or 55 minutes.

  • How many sessions will I need?

Your goals will help us decide on a plan that may include weekly, biweekly, or monthly sessions. The length of treatment depends on several factors, including your needs and individual progress.

  • Can I use my FSA or HSA card?

Yes! Mental health services are eligible expenses for flexible spending account (FSA) and health savings account (HSA) programs, even if you do not have health insurance.

  • How much does counseling cost?

I am passionate about keeping mental health care affordable. The fee for your initial session, which lasts 60-90 minutes, is $90. The rate for your following sessions depends on their length. The fee for a 45-minute session is $75, while a 55-minute session is $85. I also offer reduced rates for those with financial need.

  • Can I qualify for a reduced fee?

Reduced fee options, commonly called sliding scale rates, allow me to provide services to individuals who are unable to afford mental health care at the full rate. This may be a helpful option if you have no mental health coverage with your health insurance plan or a high-deductible insurance plan. To discuss more details about reduced rates, contact Kelsey.

  • Do you accept health insurance?

No. I offer reduced fee options for those in need. I can also provide a superbill on request. You may file a superbill with your insurance for possible reimbursement or deductible credit; however, as an out-of-network provider and Licensed Professional Counselor Associate, I do not offer any assurance or guarantee that your insurance will accept the superbill.
